Alex Ovalle

Alex Ovalle is Managing Director and Head of Construction Lending and Syndications at Ready Capital. He joined the company in November 2021.

Prior to joining Ready Capital, Mr. Ovalle was the Head of Originations at Mosaic Real Estate Investors and a member of its Investment Committee, helping to build Mosaic into a national construction lending platform. Prior to that, he was Head of the Western Region for Silverpeak Argentic from 2014 to 2017, focusing on CMBS and mezzanine lending.

From 2011 to 2014, Mr. Ovalle served as Managing Director in the Los Angeles office of LoanCore Capital — managing a banking team originating fixed-rate first mortgages, floating-rate bridge loans, and various forms of subordinated debt. He also spent six years as Managing Director at RBS Greenwich Capital’s real estate finance group where he originated commercial mortgage loans, high leverage A-note/B-note transactions, and preferred equity. Prior to RBS, he was the head of the Los Angeles office of J.P. Morgan Mortgage Capital, overseeing the company’s commercial mortgage originations in the western United States, after a similar role as co-head of the Los Angeles office of Daiwa Real Estate Finance.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Ovalle has been responsible for originating over $6 billion in commercial mortgage transaction volume. He has an A.B. in Economics from Harvard University.
